From The Elders Study November 2014

Its November already, How time flies. It will soon be time to invite friends to our annual Bonfire service on the 9th November and then plan for Christmas.
The Holt family was recently in York on a day trip. A wonderful place and the Lord has spoken to me many times about the role the church plays (York minster, St Michael Le Belfry) with the community around it. The last trip was no different. I was walking from St Michael le Belfry and I passed a homeless person. He was being hugged by a couple from the church. They also told the person about what Jesus Christ had done for them.
Please think about the areas of life you operate in and remember you’re the bible that someone will only ever read.
Micah of the Old Testament did this several thousand years ago when he wrote;
Micah 6;8 “ And what does the Lord require of you , To Act Justly , Love Mercy and Walk humbly with your God “
Take time to develop relationships with people in church and also outside Church. Most importantly spend time with God both in prayer and reading his word.
Take the leaflets in church which detail all our events until the end of the year. Invite someone to church and then commit to prayer for them every day. Ask God to develop a relationship with that person. You will never be the same again when you begin to share your faith with someone.
